How do we get to Viscri?
As soon as you enter the village, you are guided to a large parking lot, about 100 meters from the main street. It is a solution found by locals to keep the charm of the place unaltered. Cars mean noise, pollution and dust, and Viscri is about peace and country lanes full of children and animals of all kinds.
The most important objective is the spectacular Saxon fortified church, included in UNESCO World Heritage. The entry fee is 10 lei and only cash can be paid. Besides the church itself, you can also climb in the tower, from where you will admire the village.
In the courtyard of the church, you will find a museum with various saxon items: traditional costumes, embroidery, and a loom.
So, if you have the chance, give Viscri a try. It’s the perfect place to spend a summer day with or without children. Whether you’re staying just a few hours or two days, it’s the perfect place for an urban detox. Below you can find a map if you decide to extend your stay.
